TOP 3: My tried and trusted ways of keeping nails healthy and lovely-looking

The spring’s here but my nails aren’t fixed after winter coldness, harsh wind and… me forgetting to wear gloves and keep a hand lotion close… Are your nails in bad shape as well? Weak, brittle, split nails have been a part of my look for a long time.

If your nails also bother you, I’m sure you’re going to like this post. Let me share my tried and tested treatments for healthy and strong nails, my favorite nail conditioners and natural oils I use for soaks.

What makes your nails worse?

I once read a scientific paper saying that nails are extremely similar to hair. This sounds logic because both our nails and hair are build of keratin. When nails lack keratin, they are brittle and start splitting. What causes the unwanted nail look?

The main causes of brittle nails include body fatigue, diseases, wrong/lack of nail care. Still, there are even more things affecting the nails:

  • diet: it should be high in vitamins and minerals (zinc, silicon).
  • nail care: a hand lotion works great both for hands and nails.
  • stress: if you’re stressed out too often and too much, the nails may suffer.
  • diseases: not just dermatologist conditions; general illnesses such as flu affect the nails too.
  • manicure: particularly wrongly-done gel manicure.

How to take best care of your nails?

Of course these were just the most popular causes of nail brittleness. What about the remedies? The easiest way of restoring health and strengthening the nails is doing your best to eliminate the aggressors. In other words, eat a healthy diet, chill out and turn to natural mani without gel polish and UV lamps.

Above all, the right nail care using repair products is what matters the most. The choice is up to you. There are nail conditioners, natural cold-pressed oils, DIY masks and treatments. I present my TOP 3 WAYS TO GET FLAWLESS NAILS. Ready to get to know them better? Enjoy!

TOP 3 WAYS OF GETTING LOVELY NAILS

[1] Irreplaceable Nanoil Castor Oil

My top oil for nail care is Nanoil Castor Oil (organic, cold-pressed, unrefined, simply the top-quality oil). I keep it near the sofa so I can reach for it and rub it in the nails whenever I watch a TV show. As simple as that!

Castor oil strengthens the nail plate and makes it damage-resistant. Since I started using Nanoil daily (or almost daily cause I simply forget about it sometimes), my nails’ve been growing faster. That’s why I think you should give Nanoil Castor Oil a try, even more so because it’s budget-friendly.

[2] Sally Hansen Nail Rehab Conditioner

Nail care junkies – like me – must know this easy-to-use, polish-like nail conditioner. I don’t believe you don’t know Sally Hansen because it sells the best nail products on the market. And Nail Rehab is one of them – this conditioner for damaged nails aided me in strengthening my extremely soft, split and thin nails after I gave up on gel manicure.

What’s the effect? Sally Hansen Conditioner rebuilds the nail plate but before the nails are stronger, the product coats them with a smooth and strong layer making them damage-proof. So cool!

[3] DIY gelatin nail soak

Last but not least, a DIY treatment if you’re broke. The best home nail-strengthening treatment. You need just one ingredient – gelatin. A note for vegans: unfortunately this must be animal gelatin which contains a blend of proteins and peptides (incl. collagen) essential for damaged nails.

The most crucial stage: how to strengthen nails with gelatin? A piece of cake! You pour boiled water over gelatin, mix and let it cool down. Then you simply soak the nails for two minutes or so. Wash your hands.

REALLY WORKS GREAT!
