9 make-up brushes that work wonders, always

Every make-up junkie will say I’m right – a good brush is a must! In most cases, make-up brushes are essential for flawless application of a product all over the face, precision use and blend of colors yet their biggest benefit is about making your look long-lasting. That is why I devote today’s article to make-up brushes.

I will tell you about the brushes I use, describing 9 models that I wouldn’t do without in my daily make-up routine.

I’m curious if you’re going to find your favorites among my top choices. Maybe I won’t show you any new arrivals but I’ll simply ensure you that your make-up-brush choices were right!

How to choose the best make-up brush?

The best make-up brushes – what does that mean actually? Of course we need to set certain criteria for assessing make-up brushes. In my opinion, we should answer the following questions.

  • Is a brush made from high-quality material?
  • Does a brush have a soft bristle which is gentle on the skin?
  • Does a brush have a comfortable handle?
  • Does a brush easily spread a product over the skin?
  • Is the shape and size of a brush suitable?

Of course, these are just a few criteria for picking the best make-up brush and we could actually come up with a set of different questions for brushes considering their purpose (eyeshadow, foundation or lip brushes) but there’s no point in doing so. The key thing is whether a given brush works for you. When a brush is nice to use for you (fast, effortless make-up), this means it’s made for you.

TOP 9 MAKE-UP BRUSHES

Let’s move on to my beloved, irreplaceable, used-to-the-limit make-up brushes. Take a look at nine brushes that let me create flawless make-up, always.

#1 FOUNDATION Anabelle Minerals Flat Top

It’s my favorite as far as foundation brushes go. It is thick and flat – perfect for patting the product (you must know this best technique for applying foundation). The brush has a wide, short and wooden handle so it’s very convenient. I’ve been using it for a couple of years and it never sheds – it still allows a precision application of foundation.

#2 POWDER M Brush 01

It’s the biggest brush in my kit and I believe it’s the best brush for applying a powder. M Brush 01 is soft, fluffy and so nice to use. I like to use it for loose powders as a finish touch. Though it has a very dense bristle and doesn’t work for “sweeping” the powder across the face, I like to use it, somewhat pressing the product into the skin.

#3 BLENDING M Brush 15

A smaller one than the previous brush. It’s the best eyeshadow-blending brush I’ve ever come across. What I like about this brush the most is its finger-pad shape – thanks to that I can blend the products with the best precision.

#4 SMUDGER Zoeva 226

This make-up brush has had a very important place in my beauty kit for years. I keep loving it for excellent smudging and smoothing the eyeshadow along the lash line. It has short, very dense and slightly rounded bristles. Perfection.

#5 EYEBROW Hulu P44

I love this tiny little brush, it’s flat, angled, slightly dense and has a pretty simple form – thanks to that it is perfect for applying brow pomades, powders and other fillers. It is very thin so we can easily fill in sparse areas and draw the hairs that are missing.

#6 EYESHADOW Hakuro H77

I’m not a fan of flat eyeshadow brushes because after using one I’d need to follow with a fluffy brush to smudge the eyeshadow. That’s why I reach for Hakuro H77 straight away – it has an ideal shape for applying and smudging the product across the upper eyelids. Definitely the best eyeshadow brush I’ve ever had.

#7 FLAWLESS EYE MAKE-UP Hakuro H76

A smaller version of the previous brush. It’s my top choice for applying products to the lower eyelids, corner of the eyes, eyelash line. It works for loose, pressed and cream eyeshadow – anything you like. It is tiny and comfy so I can’t imagine applying make-up without it, particularly when I strive for flawless look.

#8 CONTOURING Smashbox Angled Blush Brush

An unquestioned master, the best face contouring brush. Fluffy, just right. It is ideally shaped and angled so it skillfully applies a blush, bronzer and highlighter. You can use it for full contouring no matter your facial features or products you’ve got. Plus, it looks very fancy.

#9 LIPS Zoeva 331

My lip make-up saver. It lets me apply a lipstick effortlessly and precisely. It is flat and has evenly-distributed bristles so I can easily apply all kinds of lip products.
