Admit it, that sometimes you get up in the morning and you think that your hair may intentionally go against you and no brush can handle it. On top of it, hair appears flat, matte and frizzy cause it hasn’t seen a hairdresser’s scissors for quite a while. What can you do?
Sure, you can wash it and style it or just book a visit with a friendly hairdresser. However, sometimes we just simply do not have time for it.
In a situation like this helpful is… hair make-up. Yes, you read that correctly! HAIR MAKE-UP which is a simple way to quickly improve hairstyle. I love it cause it saved my hair on numerous occasions.
Make-up. Can you do it on the hair?
My idea may come up as a bit weird but it is truly possible. You can do the hair make-up and it is not that difficult.
On a daily basis, we use various make-up tricks that allow us to make face look slimmer, to make our eyes bigger, to cover up dark circles and puffiness, but also to enlarge the lips. Why not cover up some of the hair flaws and beautify it?
Hair make-up. What’s it all about?
The rules are simple. It’s about beautifying the hair without the use of hair dye. You need to find a way to emphasize hair color or the change of color without the use of ammonia-based hair dye and so it would be easy to change the color on the whim.
Personally, I believe that a hair make-up idea is brilliant! So many times I colored my hair one color and I got bored with it and all I could do was to color it again or remove the color. It all put a strain on my hair and left me with hay instead of hair.
Cosmetics for hair make-up
Time for some details, in other words how you should do the hair make-up. As you probably figured it out, it is NOT enough to take some eyeshadow and paint your hair with it… It requires a bit different type of preparation.
For effective hair make-up you’ll need:
- hair powder or dry shampoo,
- temporary hair color,
- hair spray or fixing mist.
What products for temporary hair color can you use to obtain a hair make-up effect? There are few options: 1-day hair dye, coloring hair spray, tint or coloring foam. Obviously, each one of them gives the different effect that lasts for a longer or shorter period of time, so I recommend testing a few of them.
Important thing is that in hair make-up you can also decorate hair with, for example, hair tattoos – stickers (gold, silver or colorful) that can be attached to the hair.
How to do the hair make-up?
The trick is to match hair make-up with the stylization. Then the effect is the best! Of course, you can always use a tint and be done with it, but as in face make-up to look better, you have to devote more time to it and polish every detail.
HAIR MAKE-UP STEP BY STEP
- Refresh hair with some powder to add volume and make the next steps of stylization easier (the hair will be easier to, e.g. tie).
- Treat hair with the color of choice using the coloring product that works best for you (you can entirely change the color, go for ombre, highlights or go wild with trendy lately colored roots).
- At this stage, you can tie the hair or gently curl it, but also add some decorations to beautify your hair make-up.
- Fix the hair with some hairspray or mist that not only can preserve the final shape but also add some gloss and make hair color less likely to come off too fast.
